Solitaire

"I'm in love with you," I say in my head to her.

The four goes on the hearts pile.  Draw.  Draw.  Draw.

She sits across from me at the lunch table.  She's filing her nails, but it's not a habit of hers.  She doesn't do it for the look.  She bites her nails so hard they bleed sometimes and I can't look away.  I usually have a band-aid in my pocket and it's hers.  The ones that don't bleed ge

It's really a crap poem
I'm writing in FREE VERSE
NO - - - RULES
Imagine that
Same with love
Actually not really
This isn't really poetry
It's just words pretending to be a poem (because it doesn't rhyme)
It's not really love
Just words pretending (they don't rhyme either)

Not a Flower
Nor an Angel
Nor a Jewel in an Ethiope's Ear
Nor a Dove
Nor a Squirrel
Nor any other crap metaphor

Cello PoemFourteen Twenty Twenty-six
My locker opens in three clicks

Seven-thirty Wednesday morning
My fatiguèd mind is scorning

Arrange the chairs into their places
But they're always stolen by basses

I have to scrounge, I've lost my stop
I guess I'll use my shoe to prop

Music falls down in a mess
A paper pile of distress

Have to rosin up my bow
And my D sounds a tad low

My legs spread wide like a whore
My arms pull in pain, ignore

I stroke as though a baby mild
Cradling this wooden child

My fingertips are slicing open
What is this acute hell I've chosen?

Until I have made calluses white
Formed of love and lasting spite

never read the book or watched the movie. I just remember the cover cause my sister brought it home once. I definitely am interested though. I hear its interesting.
